Art After School with Julia Kelly
Budding artists from 5 – 14 can enjoy after-school art projects with professional artist and instructor, Julia Kelly. The class will explore a variety of creative skills, including drawing, ceramics, and painting in oils, watercolor, acrylics, and oil pastel. Classes are held Monday afternoons from 2:30-4:00pm and materials are included. Class size is limited and monthly preregistration is required.

Pastel Painting with Petey Cox
Pastel painting is a new adventure! Petey Cox will help you discover your own vision and transfer it to paper. Classes are on-going, class size is limited.
Monthly preregistration is required. Participants must bring their own supplies; a list will be provided upon registration.
Classes are held Tuesday mornings from 9:00-11:30am

May 7 – 28, 2013 (4 weeks): Museum Members: $120; Non-Members: $140 |
Life Draw
Patrice Scott will mediate this weekly class for experienced adult artists, 21 and over. This non-instructional open-studio session will provide a professional nude model. Artists must bring their own drawing or painting supplies. Easels and tables provided. Space is limited – first come, first served.
Every Wednesday, 1 – 4 p.m.; Fee is $15 per session payable at the door, through May 29th (possibly during the summer - call for details) |

Capture the Light in Oils with Karen Leffel Massengill
Karen is an award-winning master of composition and capturing light in her work. She will guide participants through the various stages of developing a composition, using color correctly, and making your work pop by seeing and interpreting the contrasting light. Included are lots of one-on-one instruction and group critiques with this very accomplished and collected artist. Class size is limited and preregistration is required. A materials list will be provided at sign-up. Adults 18+.

Lights in Oils with Artist Karen Massengill |
Watercolor Studio with Robin Lee
Makowski
Award-winning professional artist and instructor, Robin Lee Makowski, will take participants to “watercolor boot camp.” Robin will cover everything from materials and dynamic composition to correct drawing and effective painting techniques. Robin’s class focuses on learning the skills you need to see the detail in your subject matter and translate it to your work. Bring your own materials; a list will be provided at sign-up. Space is limited and monthly pre-registration is required.

Teens: Digital Photography
Fundamentals with Livia Kropf
Photographer, filmmaker and instructor, Livia Kropf, will teach middle & high school kids from 12 – 18 the art of photography, including using their cameras or camera phones* as an artistic tool with emphasis on composition, lighting, choosing subjects, cropping, printing, presentation, publishing online, and culminating with inviting family members to attend a reception to show their work in a real museum gallery setting. Participants will bring their own digital point & shoot or SLR cameras (no pad cameras, please; *phone cameras with instructor’s permission only.) |

Come and enjoy The Studio facilities and schmooze with your creative kindred spirits. Tables and easels provided; bring your own materials for whatever you want to work on. Some materials may be available for purchase at The Studio.
Occasionally, Open Studio will not be available due to a scheduled workshop or other Studio booking. A schedule will be posted in advance, but it’s always a good idea to call ahead and make sure Open Studio is being held. We will also schedule special Guest Artists to join us for Open Studio, so check back often.
Three-hour Open Studio sessions available from 10 – 1 or 1 – 4: $10 per session or stay all day for $15. Pay at the front entrance per use. Space is limited, first-come, first-served.

Saturdays Lunch & Learn
Come share a creative bite with our instructors! A great program for an artistic break or to exercise your Muse with out-of-town guests who are only here for a short time.
Enjoy a light lunch and three hours of instruction in a variety of media, and go home with your creation! Includes lunch, a soft drink, all instruction and most materials.
Space is limited and reservations are encouraged, but drop-ins are welcome if space allows.
This program is geared toward adult instruction.

Summer Creativity Camps & Classes
for Kids of All Ages! 2013 Summer Creativity Camps at the Elliott Museum!
The Studio at the Elliott Museum is pleased to present our schedule of 2013 Summer Creativity Camps for kids from 5-17. These Camps offer age-specific projects with great instructors including professional area artists and art teachers. All instruction, most materials*, and a light snack are included in the fee.
Pre-registration and payment are required and space is limited; first-come, first-served. All Camps are half-days for about 3 hours, held Monday through Friday each week. Camps are designed for the specific age groups listed, and there is a 10% discount for siblings registered in the same class on the same week. All camps will culminate with a Student Art Reception for friends and family to show off their creations in a real Museum setting!

The Art of Collaboration Workshop
with Danuta Rothschild
Professional artist & instructor, Danuta Rothschild, has designed a unique class for older kids and teens. The Art of Collaboration focuses on group as well as individual projects and teaches kids how to think and work together to create a large-format mural. Class focuses on:

Collaborating on an acrylic & collage group mural

Participants will decide collectively on the mural theme (choices for the theme will be suggested)

Deciding as a group on the composition, color and impact of the painting, which delivers the desired message

Learning the joy of working together on a collaborative art effort
